2nd ODI India vs Sri Lanka

The second ODI of the tour of Sri Lanka in India was held on the 12th of January. Like the previous ODI match and even the strong rivalry that has existed between the two, the 2nd ODI India vs Sri Lanka was definitely a great match for spectators. The match was rather intense with India ended up beating Sri Lanka by 4 wickets.

When it comes to the innings, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. Dasun Shanaka, the captain of Sri Lanka, decided to go down the pitch first and bat. The top order of the visiting team included Kusal Mendis, Nuwanidu Fernando, and Avishka Fernando. The visitors, however, soon lost their wickets and got bundled out in around 39.4 overs for 215 score.

Mohammed Siraj, the Indian fast bowler, was the pick of their bowlers. Other than just taking the wicket of Avishka Fernando, Siraj also got two other wickets of Lahiru Kumaru and Dunith Wallalage.

In addition to it, when it comes to the performance of key players, Kuldeep Yadav, playing his first match of the ODI series, also played an important role and picked 3 wickets in his spell of 10 overs for only 53 runs. The spinner sent players like Dasun Shanaka, Charith Asalanka, and Kusal Mendis back to the pavilion and broke the middle order of Sri Lanka.

At the Eden Gardens, Yadav deceived specialist batters and he was at the top of his game. In his last match, Yadav had already won a match ward and in this match, he again won a match in different formats. Yadav said that he was definitely happy with his performance. Since the last one year, he had been attempting to back his strength without thinking excessively. He also said that whenever he gets the chance, he thinks about just performing well in the match.

In the second innings of 2nd ODI India vs Sri Lanka, when Indian team came to bat, it completely changed the flow. KL Rahul showed spectators a glimpse of his incredible form with a great half-century as he brought India to an amazing victory in the second ODI over Sri Lanka. Furthermore, Rahul came and he scored an unbeaten score of 64 off only 103 balls on a rather tough track as the team chased a target of around 216 runs.
